Survey Reveals New Opportunities For Smart Affiliate Marketers & Online Publishers.

Hope you are on track with your online promotions this month.

Ok, here are the results for the survey that was sent to our list yesterday. I was expecting a lot more people to take the survey but ended up with 189 within 24 hours. Enough data to get a snapshot version of my subscriber’s ‘online goals’.

Here are the questions and response from this survey….

1. How did you get started with your online business? (What is your story)

This was a essay type text box answer, so I won’t be able to give you specific numbers. All I have to say is, I have read some very inspirational, exciting and also very depressing stories from people around the globe. Most of us start with very short term goals, (like making enough money to compensate for lost income…etc) – and that’s okay. But eventually, when we get confident enough about the potential to live our dreams, we start giving more of ourselves and commit to improvements. That’s the way it should be. Baby steps, but never taking your focus off of what your really want.

2. Are you planning to work part time and make some extra cash, or are your planning to build a solid business and reputable brand for yourself?

That’s remarkable. For most people commitment to build a business, is the next step to feeling confident about the possibilities to reach their goals in life. But creating a personal brand is becoming even more important in today’s business world. It’s becoming more and more relevant to have a ‘personal brand’ even if you want to work for someone, get a promotion, and move up within a company.

How can you build that personal branding? Where do you start? The answer is ’social media’ platforms. If you don’t have a ‘facebook’ profile page, or you haven’t spend enough time to fill out your profile page the right way, do it now. It’s a great place to start with your personal branding efforts. Segmenting Targeted Email Lists

One of the most priceless assets in your Internet marketing arsenal is a targeted email list. Understanding its power and potential can make a huge difference to your marketing program. It’s a common variable to give you a competitive advantage, however, uncertainty about what lead types and audience can dramatically prevent your promotions to effectively reach the right customer.

In order to thoroughly grasp the idea of segmenting leads from current customers, it is important to know that every type of lead is different. People are different and their behavior, purchase power, and demographics are not the same. A person who participates in your online program is not capable of meeting with you face-to-face. Email is a different creature today than it was ten years ago. Consumers have gone through an unprecedented change, and their definition of unwanted quantifies a legitimate reason for contact. But, overwhelmingly 80% of all unsolicited email typically classifies as spam. The greatest motivator behind this type of email manipulation is reason enough to click the spam button. To ensure a better open rate, start by building reputation with your list.

Now more than ever, marketers must practice sending relevant messages that are wanted and valued, and that requires building better relationships with your customer databases. Even though relevant content will significantly increase your performance, you need to make sure the recipient identifies your email in a way that is relevant with a prior interactive email session. This can be recognized by having multiple products or services. Make sure the recipient know who is sending the email so they can identify your company with whom they have the relationship with. If they do not recognize your company or brand, then most likely your email will be deleted.

The frequency in which your email is sent realistically propositions them to determine if your email is considered spam. If you send too often, the recipients will immediately determine your email is spam to stop the barrage of messages. In order to continuously achieve results, test the frequency for your specific line of business. If you want to accelerate sending email, start slow and tract all unsubscriptions, click-throughs, open rates, and complaints. Not unsurprisingly, sending not enough, or not at all will potentially decrease your message’s value. Worse yet, the recipient will forget the nature of the relationship they originally initiated with you. You must test in order to find the highest response rate.

Internet marketers want to continuously achieve list building practices, but they let their ego compromise data capture processes. To alleviate spam complaints and increase subscription rates, make sure spam and privacy policies are accurate and visible at all times. This tactic will generate better results. When it boils down to increasing emails lists, subscribers must know what kind of messages they’re going to receive. Any misleading or tricky methods to get people to signup will generate complaints. If possible, provide a way for the subscriber to change their preferences for the kind of information they want to receive. This will prevent complaints from occurring more frequently and it will help keep your messages more relevant and effective.

Whereas keeping a clean list, it is wise to tract email performance. An effective Internet marketing program must have one in place to monitor on a regular basis before it drastically affects your strategy. This also means to look into the sending reputation of email list hosts and providers. A negative reputation can have a bad affect on your business and marketing programs. You can easily do this by examining the hosts’ domain with the Internet Service Providers. If their domain is currently being blacklisted or blocked, and your email message includes a link to their Web site, your message may be blocked as well.

Renting a email list should also include researching their practices to ensure quality and legitimacy. Old email addresses can cause high bounce rates and may damage your reputation in the process. If email addresses are obtained fraudulently, regardless of business relations can lead to severe spam complaints. Strategically speaking, protecting your reputation means to efficiently practice well email hygiene using the right technology and actively monitor for problems. Once you have established a good reputation, create a solid contingency plan to keep it there for long-term effectiveness.
